Week of August 3-7

 

Monday - We reviewed the syllabus and class rules. 

Tuesday - We introduced ourselves by playing the game 2 Truths and 1 Lie.  We took a silly Grammar Income Quiz to see how our reading/writing skills impact the future.

Wednesday - We learned about the concept of Voice in literature and wrote our own list of 10 "Voice Statements."

Thursday - We learned how to annotate a text using the Close 5 method.  We practiced by reading/annotating This I Believe articles.

Friday - We learned how to develop a good paragraph using the OREO method.  We practiced writing an OREO paragraph and shared with peers.
